Working in law requires all sorts of ways of thinking. In this engaging and interactive workshop learn how to think and when. The result: better strategic decisions.

This unique ½ day program — developed specifically for legal professionals — will allow you to hone and refine your thinking skills.

Learn what these thinking skills are, along with effective techniques and strategies that will enable you to approach any problem with confidence – whether in the courtroom, office or boardroom. You’ll also learn how intuition arises from a straightforward process that can be sharpened and then applied to increase the effectiveness of your decisions. The result: better strategic decisions, more often, out of habit.

Join us for an engaging discussion with hands-on exercises specifically tailored for legal professionals in all practice areas.

Lead by an expert in this field, topics covered include:

  • Practice and discuss intuitive processes and techniques to refine how you think
  • Learning to be more reflective about your own thought processes and decision making strategies
  • Identifying cognitive biases – both conscious and unconscious
  • Appreciate what is slow thinking?
  • How to hone and refine how you think critically
  • Develop flexibility and effective problem solving methods by using the following strategies:
    • Defining the problem
    • Finding the cause
    • Context and consequences

    • Choosing the best solution
  • Methods for overcoming challenges that prevent clear thinking: juggling multiple tasks, ethical dilemmas, pressure from clients
  • Principles of rational thinking

Group Discounts

OsgoodePD offers group rates for both on site and webcast formats. Please note these are only available when registering for members of the same organization, at the same time, and payment is made with one invoice.

Program Changes

We will make every effort to present the certificate program as advertised, but it may be necessary to change the dates, location, speakers or content with little or no notice. In the event of program cancellation, York University and Osgoode Hall Law School’s liability is limited to reimbursement of paid fees.

Cancellations and Substitutions

Substitution of registrants is permitted at any time. If you are unable to find a substitute, a full refund is available if a cancellation request is received in writing 14 days prior to the program date. If a cancellation request is made with less than 14 days notice, a $75 administration fee will apply. No other refund is available.
