Privacy and cybersecurity law is becoming an increasingly complex and high stakes area of practice. It is imperative all professionals – and their advisors – treat data privacy and cybersecurity as a priority; not as an afterthought.
Learn on your OWN schedule in a dynamic and engaging virtual classroom.
With the spiraling growth of technology and new threats to information privacy, organizations must be prepared to respond to new and unexpected privacy challenges, and professionals must keep up-to-date.
Over the duration of the 5 weeks, the Osgoode Certificate in Privacy and Cybersecurity Law will give you access to online modules and resources. Each module includes a live webinar, recordings, resources, quizzes and exercises with an emphasis on peer-to-peer learning.
You will explore the key legal and policy issues related to privacy and cybersecurity, and get a practical orientation and overview of foundational legal concepts and frameworks, across key industries and sectors. Focused on real-world exercises and case studies, you will get to respond to a data breach, conduct a privacy impact assessment (PIA), data protection impact assessment (DPIA), and a legitimate interest assessment. You will learn how to structure practical contracts to meet compliance requirements, while maintaining alternative business goals like efficient negotiating and partnership-management.
Other topics include:
There will be ample opportunity to collaborate and network with fellow learners. Expect to spend approximately 5-7 hours per week on each module, including online discussions, peer feedback and exercises.
Space is limited to ensure interactivity and engagement. Register now to secure your spot!
