This OsgoodePD program, designed and delivered by an expert faculty of practitioners and adjudicators, will provide you with the tools you need to be an effective advocate in residential landlord and tenant law.

In this unique, full-day program, you will hear from a faculty of practitioners with many years’ experience presiding over or litigating residential tenancies issues. They will examine various key components of landlord and tenant law while also providing you with best practices and useful tips in handling some of the more complex matters in this area of practice.

Topics will include:

  • Current legislation, recent amendments and key practice and procedure developments
  • Recent case law affecting your practice
  • Strategies and best practices in appearing for landlords and tenants
  • Landlord and tenant perspectives on some of the most topical areas including cannabis consumption and cultivation issues
  • The Human Rights Code in residential tenancies

Fees

Fees include attendance, program materials, lunch and break refreshments for each of the 5 days of the program. The price does not include accommodations. Please inquire about group discounts and financial assistance. Fees paid by individuals are eligible for a tuition tax credit. Dress is business casual.

Program Changes

We will make every effort to present the certificate program as advertised, but it may be necessary to change the dates, location, speakers or content with little or no notice. In the event of program cancellation, York University and Osgoode Hall Law School’s liability is limited to reimbursement of paid fees.

Certificate of Program Completion

In order to successfully complete the program and obtain an Osgoode Certificate in Construction Law, participants must attend all program modules and satisfactorily pass an online multiple-choice exam.

Substitutions, Cancellations and Refunds

Substitution of registrants is permitted at any time. If you are unable to find a substitute, a full refund is available if a cancellation request is received in writing 21 days prior to the program date. If a cancellation request is made with less than 21 days notice, a $150 administration fee will apply. No other refund is available.
