Positive outcomes in sexual offence cases are contingent on good education and best practices.

An allegation of sexual assault raises unique challenges for lawyers, judges, and investigators. In recent years, the justice system’s handling of these cases has come under sustained scrutiny.  Positive outcomes in sexual offence cases are contingent on good education and best practices. Join a faculty of top-level lawyers, judges and social scientists to hear the latest in the law and practical approaches including:

  • Section 276 of the Criminal Code, prior sexual consent, and the trilogy of recent SCC cases, Barton, Goldfinch and RV.
  • Breaking down myths and stereotypes in a sexual assault case
  • Drill down on new sexual assault law: Bill C-51 and C-75
  • Ethics and civility during a sexual assault trial
