Prevention. Preparedness. Protection. Peace of Mind.

Across all industries, data breaches are on the rise, but at the same time, there are growing concerns about how companies approach cybersecurity.  As a legal professional or executive whose work involves the protection of information, how confident are you that you have the most up-to-date knowledge and tactics?

As critical as it is, cybersecurity can feel so overwhelming that many don’t know where to start. This OsgoodePD program provides you with an in-depth overview of how to prevent and prepare for and protect against a data breach incident.  You will get practical and relevant tactics to help you develop and refine the skills you need to ensure a cyber-resilient organization.

Designed to address the cybersecurity lapses and other data breach challenges, this intensive one-day program provides you with the skills you need to prevent and prepare for an organizational data breach to confidently – and competently – protect against cybersecurity threats.

Instruction draws from examples of cybersecurity designs, plans, incident responses, insurance policies, and procedures. Using sample case scenarios, you will get hands-on experience so you know how to effectively counter potential threats and actual attacks.  You will learn how cybersecurity applies to governance, risk management, insurance, and data breach incident response, including:

  • Data loss and breach prevention strategies, tools, and tips
  • Cybersecurity preparedness: incident management plans, data breach response strategies and reputation management
  • Privacy, data breaches, and the key technological tools and experts behind them
  • Key laws, regulators and enforcement bodies that impact privacy & security
  • Acclimating to new Breach Notification Requirements and drafting breach notifications
  • Current trends in data breach & privacy litigation
  • The evolving market for data breach and cybersecurity insurance

PLUS! For those new to the area, or in need of a refresher, get a deep dive on the legal and regulatory landscape, in the Optional Online PrimerIntroduction to Data Breaches and Cybersecurity Law. Note: The Optional Online Primer will become available on October 15, 2019.
