This practical OsgoodePD program will provide you with the tools you need to give effective testimony in court.  Don’t miss your opportunity to hear from judges, defence lawyers, Crown attorneys and senior police instructors on what it takes to prepare and give evidence in court.

Whether you are preparing to testify or actually giving evidence in court, this new and practical program will provide you with tips and strategies on how to best navigate your way confidently and effectively through the process.  Topics will include:

  • Immediate steps to take when you’ve been called to court
  • Knowing what the Crown Attorney can and cannot do for you
  • Best practices in giving testimony during direct examination
  • Anticipating and dealing with situations on cross-examination
  • How to handle the different types of defence counsel you may encounter

Plus!  Don’t miss the afternoon Courtroom Testimony Skills Workshop!  This is a unique opportunity to hone your testimony skills while being constructively critiqued by an expert faculty of Crown attorneys, defence counsel, judges, and senior police instructors.  You’ll participate in a mock scenario, giving evidence in direct examination or on cross-examination.  Let experienced judges and practitioners provide you with valuable strategic insight and practical advice on how to maximize the quality and impact of your testimony.

Space is strictly limited to ensure that each attendee receives the personal attention necessary to make the most of this rare learning opportunity.
