In the increasingly complex world of property and equalization, mistakes can be critical – and costly. Are you on top of it?

This annual OsgoodePD program — designed and delivered by the leading family law experts – focusses on the more complex and challenging current and emerging issues in property and equalization. This is not a quick summary of the year in review. Rather, it is an in-depth analysis of the critical issues confronting the family law bar.

Let OsgoodePD’s experts provide you with the benefit of their insights and experience and answer your most pressing questions.

This year’s agenda is still in development.  Past topics have included:

  • Critical caselaw update: The most significant cases you need to know about – and why
  • Tackling vexing tax issues, including Contingent Disposition costs
  • Unravelling complex valuation issues: goodwill, hindsight evidence; economic remuneration
  • Winning strategies for how to advance and defend Ontario Business Corporation Act claims in Family Court
  • Goodwill: What is it? Personal vs commercial? How should you value it?
  • What you need to know about Hindsight Evidence and when to use it in a business valuation
  • Top 10 practice pitfalls for family lawyers (and strategies to avoid them)
