The essential course for anyone whose work involves search warrants.

You will get the tools you need to draft clear, accurate and complete search warrant applications and avoid the often-dire consequences of deficient drafting

You can make or break your case depending on how you have drafted your Search Warrant.

In this one day comprehensive program led by an expert and experienced faculty, you will get the knowledge and skills you need to draft a wide variety of search warrants with clarity and certainty, to review and revise warrants, and to identify and develop strategies for defending or attacking them.

Topics will include:

  • Computer and hi-tech device searches; Special challenges and drafting considerations
  • Using anonymous sources, informers and tipsters effectively and avoiding traps
  • Sealing Orders; How and when to get them and how to fight them
  • Warrants involving media, lawyer communications and medical records; Perils and procedures
  • Practical issues and effective responses throughout the warrant process
  • Drill down on the foundation principles of warrant drafting

Take the optional Day 2 Workshop and build on what you learned on Day 1. You’ll draft and review portions of Warrant samples with the guidance of experienced criminal litigators.
