In this full-day course, you will hear about all of the key components of residential landlord and tenant law and practice.  Whether it’s navigating the maze of applications available to landlords and tenants, understanding the Residential Tenancies Act and the available remedies, or assessing whether to appeal a decision, this program will provide you with the practical tips and strategies you need to effectively advocate for your client.

Topics include:

  • Strategies and best practices for appearing for landlords or tenants
  • Negotiating the labyrinth of applications at the Landlord and Tenant Board including tenant maintenance applications and tenant applications based on interference with reasonable enjoyment
  • Handling evictions (from both tenants’ and landlords’ perspectives)
