With the spread of COVID-19, we’re all adjusting to a new normal that includes practicing from home and social distancing. In this short, online segment you’ll learn techniques for meeting your legal and professional obligations under the Rules of Professional Conduct, including how you can use videoconferencing software to commission documents and verify client ID remotely. You will also learn best practices for managing your practice (and staff) remotely, including:

· How to supervise and support staff

· Strategies for maintaining confidentiality

· How to remain a competent and courteous legal professional

Session Leader:

  • Brooke MacKenzie, Co-founder of MacKenzie Barristers PC, Adjunct Professor of Legal Ethics at Osgoode Hall Law School, and a doctoral candidate at the U of T Faculty of Law researching legal professional regulation in light of emerging technologies

Delivery

After your purchase is complete, the course will appear in the Order History of your OsgoodePD account with a link to "Take Online Course". Once you click "Take Online Course" you will be forwarded to the Moodle page with the materials link. The program video link with be unlocked on the day of the program. You will have access to the video for 90 days.
