Rana Arbabian is counsel at the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT), where she advises on the consistency of Ontario’s measures with its trade and investment obligations, as well as on trade litigation and negotiations. Prior to joining MEDJCT, Rana was counsel to the Ontario Human Rights Commission, where her work focused on Indigenous reconciliation, litigation of systemic human rights issues and addressing discrimination through public inquiries.
Rana holds a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto. During her academic career, Rana conducted extensive research on international investment arbitration, worked as an advisor to an environmental organization providing advice on trade and investment issues and analyzed the impact of international trade treaties on domestic public policy while working at a policy research institute.
