In this talk Paul Maharg will analyse some of the recent developments in professional legal education in England, drawing conclusions as to the possible future directions of professional education and its assessment in other jurisdictions.

Key topics addressed include:

  • Global challenges and changes in legal education(England, Wales, U.S.A, Canada)
  • Improving professional standards without suppressing innovation in education
  • Implications for licensing examinations in Ontario
