Prior to her appointment to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in 2000,
The Hon. Justice Susanne Goodman practised family law exclusively as a partner in a Toronto family law firm. Between 1983 and 1996 she taught in, and ultimately became the Head of the Family Law Section of the Bar Admission course for the Law Society of Upper Canada. She is the Editor and principal author of the
Ontario Superior Court of Justice's Electronic Bench Book in Family law; is a member of Ontario's Family Law Rules Committee; teaches advanced Family Law at the University of Toronto, regularly participates in continuing education for the Ontario Bar Association, the Law Society and the National Judicial Institute, Ontario Bar Association, the Law Society and the National Judicial Institute, receiving the President's Award in 2005 from the Women's Law Association of Ontario.
