FAQs – CLE Programs

Not sure how to register your group of 2 or more attendees for an upcoming program? Stuck on which attendance option is best for you? We’ve got the answers – simply select the category that best suits your query

Registration

  • Q: How can I register for a program?
  • > To register online: Select the ‘Register Now’ button located on the right hand side of the program web page.
  • > To register by email, mail or fax: Download and save the Printable Registration Form on the program web page and follow the instructions.
  • > To register by phone: Please call us at 416-597-9724. Phone registrations takes from 15-20 minutes, and we recommend one of the registration methods above.
  • NB: Payment is required at the time of registration. We accept Visa & Mastercard. For other payment options, such as cheque or direct deposit, please contact us at osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca or 416-597-9724.
  • Q: How do I register someone other than myself or multiple people online?
  • Our online system is currently only able to process individual registrations. Please contact the OsgoodePD Registration Team at osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca or 416-597-9724 to register someone other than yourself or for group registrations.
  • Q: How do I register a group for a program or receive a group discount?
  • Email the details (full name, email address and company details) of the individuals you want to register along with the Program Name and program date to OsgoodePD Registrations at osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca. Information on group discounts can be found at our Group Discounts & Financial Assistance page.
  • Q: When does registration for a program close?
  • Registration for certificate, one-day and two-day programs closes at 12:00PM (noon) EST the business day before the scheduled program date, unless sold out.
  • > Registration for webinars closes at 10:00AM EST the morning of the session, unless sold out.

Registration Options

  • In Person
  • Attendance for the program will take place at Osgoode Professional Development (1 Dundas Street West, Suite 2602, Toronto, ON M5G 1Z3) unless otherwise specified. Program Materials will be printed and available for pick up upon arrival.
  • Webcast
  • Attendance is via live stream with an opportunity to submit questions to the speakers throughout the program. Registration includes downloadable Program Materials and 90-day access to the program archive.
  • Online Replay
  • The program is pre-recorded with an opportunity to submit questions to the program lawyer throughout the viewing. Registration includes downloadable Program Materials and 90-day access to the program archive.
  • Webinar with Chat
  • Attendance is via live stream. There will be an opportunity to join a live chat with the faculty members and other participants of the program. Registration includes 90-day access to the program archive.
  • Program on Demand
  • The program is a pre-recorded session. Registration includes downloadable Program Materials and 90-day access to the program archive.
  • Materials on Demand
  • Materials are made available in a downloadable PDF format. For a printed copy, please contact osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca

Changes To Registration

  • Q: What is the substitution and cancellation policy?
  • The substitution and cancellation policy varies depending on the program and/or product being purchased. Please refer to the program brochure or program webpage for program specific information. ALL substitution and/or cancellation requests MUST be received in writing by emailing osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca. Administrative charges may apply and are subject to HST.
  • > Certificate Programs
  • Substitution of registrants is permitted at any time. If you are unable to find a substitute, a full refund is available if a cancellation request is received in writing 21 days prior to the program date. If a cancellation request is made with less than 21 days notice, a $150 plus HST administration fee will apply. No refund is available after the course begins. No other refund is available.
  • > 1-2 Day Programs and Online Replays
  • Substitution of registrants is permitted at any time. If you are unable to find a substitute, a full refund is available if a cancellation request is received in writing 14 days prior to the program date. If a cancellation request is made with less than 14 days notice, a $75 plus HST administration fee will apply. No refund is available after the course begins. No other refund is available.
  • > Webinars
  • Substitution of registrants is permitted at any time. If you are unable to find a substitute, a full refund is available if a cancellation request is received in writing 2 days prior to the program date. If a cancellation request is made with less than 2 days notice, a $50 plus HST administration fee will apply. No refund is available after the course begins. No other refund is available.
  • > On Demand and Materials
  • All sales are final. Please make all enquiries related to program content and CPD/MCLE credit hours prior to purchase
  • Q: How do I change my attendance option?
  • Please email our registration team (osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca ) at least 3 business days prior to the start of the program for which you are registered. We will make all attempts to accommodate requests received within the prescribed time frame.
  • > Not all programs offer in person and web attendance. Please consult the program web page or brochure for details regarding attendance options.

Payment

  • Q: When is payment for my registration due?
  • Payment is required at the time of registration. We accept Visa & Mastercard.
  • > OsgoodePD does not store credit card information from previous registrations. Payment details must be provided each time you make a purchase.
  • Q: How do I submit payment by cheque or direct deposit / electronic transfer?
  • For direct deposit / electronic transfer payments, please email osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca
  • > Cheques must be made payable to York University. Please mail to: York University, 1 Dundas Street West, 26th Floor, Toronto ON Canada M5G 1Z3
  • Q: I am HST/GST exempt
  • > Registering online: Select ‘Yes’ for the Tax Exempt option on the ‘Order Information’ page. Enter your HST/GST exempt number in the field provided.
  • > Registering via email: Please include your tax exempt number when emailing your registration details.
  • Q: I was charged taxes, but should not have been
  • Please contact our registration team at osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca and provide your HST/GST exempt number

Discounts & Financial Assistance

  • Q: How do I apply my association discount code to my registration?
  • When registering online, enter the code provided by your association in the field marked Promo Code’ located under the Grand Total of your order.
  • Q: Is there an Osgoode Hall alumni discount?
  • Osgoode J.D., LLM, and Osgoode PD Professional LLM Alumni are eligible for a 10% discount on all OsgoodePD CLE programs, except ITAW.
  • > Email your completed registration to osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca in order to receive the discount. Please include your Osgoode student number.
  • Q: What financial assistance is available to me?
  • A limited amount of financial assistance is available for OsgoodePD Programs unless specific bursary information appears on the program page/program brochure. Head to our Group Discounts & Financial Assistance for more information.
  • Q: What financial assistance is available to my organization?
  • For group financial assistance requests, please email financialaid-opd@osgoode.yorku.ca.

Online Program Access

  • Q: I am registered for an online program. What do I do?
  • Prior to the program, please test your system by visiting the Online Technical Requirements page
  • Webcast login details are sent by 2:00PM the business day prior to the online program start date.
  • > If you do not receive login instructions, please contact our registration team at osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca or 416-597-9724.
  • > Login instructions will be sent to paid registrants only.
  • Q: I am having trouble accessing the online program I have purchased. What do I do?
  • Please contact OsgoodePD IT Support Team: opdsupport@osgoode.yorku.ca or 416-736-5737.
  • Q: I am registered for an online program. Will I have access to the program archive?
  • Registration for Online programs includes 90-day access to the program archive. Archive access is live 2 business days following the original program date.
  • > To access the archive: Log into the CLE Login. This can be found in the top right corner of the OsgoodePD website. In your Order History, select the Course you wish to access and select ‘Play Media’. A new window will open to view the program
  • NB: Subject to OsgoodePD’s License Agreement viewing is limited to one viewer/purchaser, unless a boardroom/group rate is purchased.

Online Profile

  • Q: I forgot my password. Can I still register online?
  • > To recover your password: Select the CLE Login in the top right corner of the OsgoodePD website. Select ‘Forgot password’ below the Returning Customer fields and follow the onscreen prompts .
  • > Please do not create duplicate profiles for yourself or for a colleague.
  • NB: OsgoodePD does NOT have access to your password information. If you cannot access your password through the ‘Forgot password’ online prompts, please contact osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca or 416 597 9724 to have it reset.
  • Q: How do I update my contact information?
  • Select the CLE Login in the top right corner of the OsgoodePD website and log in. Select ‘My Profile’ in the top right menu and update your details.
  • > To update your name: please contact us at osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca or 416 597 9724
  • > To update the mailing address of a colleague: email the revised contact details to our registration team: osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca
  • Q: How do I have myself or a colleague added/removed from the brochure mailing list?
  • Email osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca with the name of the person, company and mailing address you’d like added or removed.
  • NB: your online profile is your personal account. OsgoodePD encourages you not to share your login details. OsgoodePD is not liable for any issues encountered from sharing these details.

Program Content and CPD Accreditation

  • Q: I have questions regarding the content of the program.
  • For questions regarding the content and materials, contact the OsgoodePD Program Lawyer. The Program Lawyer for each program is noted at the bottom of the program’s web page and on the program brochure.
  • Q: How do I know how many CPD hours I can claim for the program I attended?
  • CPD hours for each program can be found on the program web page and program brochure. For questions regarding CPD hours, please email cpd@osgoode.yorku.ca

Local Hotels and Corporate Rates

  • Q: What hotels are close to Osgoode Professional Development?
  • The Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre and the Pantages Hotel Toronto are located close to OsgoodePD. Head to the Hotels and Parking page for more information on corporate rates

Dietary Restrictions and Dress Code

  • Q: I have a dietary restriction and am attending a program in person. How do I submit this request?
  • Please outline your dietary restrictions in the ‘Special Requests/Comments’ field on the Order Information page during the online registration process.
  • > If you need to submit a request after your registration has been processed, please email osgoodepd@osgoode.yorku.ca
  • NB: All requests must be received at least 5 business days prior to the start of a program.
  • Q: Is there a dress code for the program?
  • Dress code for OsgoodePD programs is business casual. OsgoodePD is a scent-free environment.
